I've come across Vian through a slightly unusual series of connections, and in retrospect I am very glad to have done so. The music he produces is deep, atmospheric and I find truly inspiring. Having next to no knowledge of minimal electronic music, Vian's compositions have opened my eyes to the scene which I am now discovering more about on a daily basis.
Strongly influenced by the likes of Four Tet and Nathan Fake, Vian describes his music as "experiments with texture and harmony," which I feel is a very humble description of a talent which runs much deeper.
See for yourself.
Below are links to two of his tracks. 'Two Grammes of Soma' is the first track of his I heard, and remains my favorite. The second track is an example of his remixing abilities. Having taken a Sasha track, Vian has fed it through his creative system, resulting in a very pleasing result.
