I cannot emphasize enough how good this is going to be. A few months back Ninja Tune held a party at Corsica Studios to launch the now critically acclaimed album by Alfred Darlington aka Daedelus, Love To Make Music To (buy.)
The night was amazing with awesome live sets from both The Correpondents and Daedelus and as a result they will be sharing a bill again tonight with further support from the motlee crew that are Solid Gold & Park Ranger.
This is going to be BIG; For tickets, click here. To see what your in store for, look below:

BUBBLE and BASS

This friday we have something very exciting in store for all you beat fiends. NYC's bassline institution Trouble & Bass is coming to The Brixton Dex Club in the form of label head honcho Drop The Lime (pictured left.) There has been alot of excitement surrounding this event, in recent weeks, so much so that Time Out have classified it within their critics choice section and written a preview on it. Here's what they said......
Exciting times etc. As the article says, joining DTL on the wheels of steel will be recent T&B guests and general flavor du jour, Tomb Crew, Superfilth!!! residents Oli DAB & Robin and of course the bubblin' residents Solid Gold & Park Ranger and Nick Mathews. This is going to be one monster party, and if you haven't been down to Dex before what are you playing at? They've got a shitting hot tub on the roof over looking the whole of London...its mental.
To read more about Drop The Lime and to hear some of his ill tunes, check out our good friend pelski's blog as he's pretty much written the most concise evaluation of the man possible.
And here is a link that the Tomb Crew recently did for NLLR:

Girl Talk mixtape

ALL IN THE FIRST FOUR MINUTES:
UGK with OutKast, Spencer Davis Group, Roy Orbison, The Unicorns, DJ Funk, Cupid, Pete Townshend, Unk, Twisted Sister, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Huey Lewis & The News, Lil Mama, Ludacris, Temple of the Dog, Birdman featuring Lil Wayne, Rage Against the Machine, Birdman and Lil Wayne, Aaliyah featuring Timbaland, T.I., Edwin Starr, Sinead O'Connor, Shawnna, Jay-Z, Kelis.
And then there're 49 more minutes. So at the ratio of tracks to minutes during the first four minutes, that's a lot of tracks.
Get it from Illegal Art, pay-what-you-want, a-la-Radiohead.

TRAGIC MAGIC

This just dropped through the inbox this morning. Its a minimix/sampler for a new label called 'Tragic Magic'. There isn't much information floating around about it at the moment, but I can tell you that it has been set up by two of the Machines Dont Care Crew, Trevor Loveys, Affie Yusuf and Chris Belsey who has had releases on Loungin Recordings.
Interestingly they descibe the fruits of this project as sounding like 'a seagull getting a good shafting.'
Anyway, here's the link. Make up your own minds.

Something For The Weekend?
FRIDAY
This weekend is going to be big! On Friday night we have the launch party for Fly Music's new weekly party, 'Juggle,' at the Legion, Old Street. Alongside resident and Fly Music founder Bryce, will be yours truly. This party is going to be one genre busting musical magimix, perfect for those of you who like to get on the tables in clubs and gyrate to some guilty pleasures. For those of you who dont, come anyway and laugh at the previously described idiots while enjoying some killer tunes.

On the following night, its the launch party for Bubble & Squeak. A new project that I am co-promoting. Being held at The Amersham Arms we have employed the Help of Stones Throw's James Pants, and The Oscillation who are signed to DC Recordings. They will be joining residents myself, and Nick Mathews.

Both nights will be pumping so all you need to remember is that sleep is for loosers.
